BAC One-Eleven 400 series, operated by the Royal Air Force of Oman for government and VIP transport. The British-built twinjet provided Oman with a compact jet transport suitable for carrying senior officials and delegations on regional and international journeys. Powered by two rear-mounted Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engines, the One-Eleven offered good runway performance, a pressurized cabin, and jet speed in a relatively small airframe. Government-operated examples could be configured with more spacious interiors than standard airline aircraft. The type reflects Oman's long-standing use of British aviation equipment and the One-Eleven's successful adaptation from commercial passenger service to specialized corporate and government transport roles.
