Hawker Siddeley Trident, registration AP-AUG, operated by Pakistan International Airlines. The British-built three-engine jetliner served PIA during the expansion of its regional and medium-range network. With three Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engines mounted at the rear of the fuselage, the Trident was optimized for fast, high-frequency operations and featured advanced automatic landing technology for its era. AP-AUG connected major Pakistani cities with regional international destinations and represented an important step in PIA's transition to an increasingly modern jet fleet. Although the Trident was produced in relatively modest numbers, its distinctive three-engine configuration and sophisticated flight systems made it an important British airliner design.
