Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport, registration T-055, operated by the Multinational MRTT Unit under NATO arrangements and carrying Royal Netherlands Air Force markings. Based on the A330-200 airliner, the MRTT combines strategic passenger and cargo transport with aerial refueling capability. T-055 can refuel compatible aircraft using its underwing hose-and-drogue pods and can rapidly carry personnel, freight, or medical patients over intercontinental distances. The multinational fleet is operated from Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Cologne in Germany and supports participating NATO nations. The A330 MRTT provides a major increase in European tanker capacity, range, flexibility, and interoperability.
