Douglas DC-8-50 series, operated by National Airlines as N875C. The four-engine jetliner gave the Florida-based carrier modern long-range capability during the rapid expansion of U.S. jet travel in the 1960s. Powered by Pratt & Whitney JT3D turbofan engines, the DC-8-50 offered improved range, payload, and efficiency compared with earlier DC-8 variants. National used its DC-8s on high-density domestic routes and expanding international services from Florida. Aircraft such as N875C helped establish the carrier as a major competitor before widebody aircraft and newer jets arrived. National Airlines was ultimately acquired by Pan American World Airways in 1980.
Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".
