Boeing 707-320B, operated by Malaysia-Singapore Airlines as 9V-BBA. The four-engine jet served the joint Malaysian-Singapore flag carrier during the early 1970s, providing long-range international capability before the airline was divided into Malaysia Airlines System and Singapore Airlines in 1972. Powered by Pratt & Whitney JT3D turbofan engines, the 707-320B offered substantially improved speed, range, and passenger comfort over earlier propeller-driven airliners. Aircraft such as 9V-BBA connected Southeast Asia with destinations across Asia, Australia, and Europe. The 707 played an important role in establishing the international networks that would later be developed separately by Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines.

Designed as the first American turbine-engined airliner, the 707 was first flown on July 15th, 1954.
