Airbus A330-223, operated by Vietnam Airlines as VN-A376. The twin-engine widebody served medium and long-haul routes during an important period of international expansion for the Vietnamese flag carrier. Powered by two high-bypass turbofan engines, the A330-200 combined useful intercontinental range with moderate passenger capacity and substantial belly-cargo volume. Vietnam Airlines deployed aircraft such as VN-A376 on routes throughout Asia and to selected longer-distance destinations. The A330 fleet helped modernize the airline beyond older Soviet-built and early Western aircraft before newer Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A350s increasingly assumed long-haul missions, bringing improved fuel efficiency and passenger amenities.
Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers. The A330 has the same range and payload capacity as a DC-10 with 25% greater fuel efficiency. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
