Boeing 767-300ER, operated by Atlas Air Worldwide as N649GT. The twin-engine widebody has supported passenger charter and specialized contract operations within the Atlas group, whose fleet includes both passenger and cargo-configured 767s. Powered by two high-bypass turbofan engines, the 767-300ER combines intercontinental range with moderate capacity and dependable economics. Atlas Air has used passenger 767s for military charters, sports teams, tour groups, and other contracted transportation while its freighter variants serve express and general cargo customers. N649GT represents the flexibility of the 767 platform, which remains valuable decades after its introduction because of its range, reliability, and manageable operating costs.
Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".
Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to fill the niche between the narrow-bodied 707 and wide-bodied 747, the 767 was first flown on September 26th, 1981. Developed in tandem with the narrow-bodied 757 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 767 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. With more than 1000 aircraft produced, the 767 is the second most prolific wide-bodied airliner after the 747. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
