Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, operated by Gulf Air as A9C-FG. The aircraft is part of the Bahraini flag carrier's modern long-haul fleet and replaced older Airbus widebodies on intercontinental routes. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, A9C-FG combines excellent fuel efficiency and long range with the Dreamliner's composite airframe, large electronically dimmable windows, lower cabin altitude, and quieter interior. Gulf Air uses its 787-9s from Bahrain to destinations in Europe and Asia and on other long-distance services. The type is the airline's flagship widebody and a central element of Gulf Air's fleet modernization and premium passenger strategy.
