Boeing 787-9, construction number 41167, was delivered to Lufthansa as D-ABPU in 2017 as part of the airline's fleet modernization program. The aircraft operates long-haul routes from Frankfurt and Munich to destinations across North America, Asia, and the Middle East. D-ABPU features Lufthansa's updated cabin layout, including business class, premium economy, and economy seating, along with advanced inflight entertainment and connectivity systems. Powered by Rolls Royce Trent 1000 engines, the 787-9 offers improved fuel efficiency, extended range, and reduced emissions compared with older widebody aircraft. D-ABPU serves as a key component of Lufthansa's long-haul network, supporting reliable and efficient intercontinental operations.
