Boeing 737 MAX 8, operated by Australian low-cost carrier Bonza as VH-UJK. Powered by two CFM International LEAP-1B engines, the aircraft offered improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions, reduced noise, and useful range for Bonza's point-to-point network. The airline focused on linking underserved Australian regional and leisure destinations rather than competing primarily on established trunk routes. Its MAX 8 fleet provided the capacity and economics required for this strategy while introducing a modern passenger cabin. Bonza suspended operations in 2024, bringing its brief but distinctive purple-liveried operation to an end and resulting in the return of its leased Boeing aircraft.
Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight".
The Boeing 737 MAX is an American narrow-body aircraft series being developed by Boeing Commercial Airplanes as the fourth generation of the Boeing 737, succeeding the Boeing 737 Next Generation. The first flight was on January 29, 2016. The 737 MAX is based on earlier 737 designs but re-engined with more efficient CFM International LEAP-1B along with aerodynamic improvements, most notably split-tip winglets, and airframe modifications. It is offered in three lengths, the 737 MAX 7, MAX 8 and MAX 9 replacing the 737-700, -800 and -900, typically offering 138 to 220 seats and a 3,515 to 3,825 nmi range. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
