Airbus A319-132, operated by US Airways as N828AW after originally serving America West Airlines. The aircraft became part of US Airways following the 2005 merger and retained its America West-style registration. Powered by two International Aero Engines V2500 turbofans, the A319 offered useful range, efficient capacity, and excellent performance from hot-and-high airports such as Phoenix. N828AW served domestic and transborder routes throughout the combined US Airways network. Following the 2013 merger with American Airlines, the aircraft joined American's fleet, extending the career of an A319 that had already worn the colors of several major U.S. airline identities.
