Boeing 737-790, serial number 30794, originally operated by Alaska Airlines as N627AS. The aircraft served passenger routes throughout Alaska's network before being selected for conversion into a dedicated 737-700BDSF freighter. Powered by two CFM International CFM56-7B engines, N627AS combined useful range, strong runway performance, and efficient narrowbody economics. As a passenger aircraft it connected destinations throughout Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, and the continental United States. Its later freighter conversion extended its career dramatically, allowing Alaska Air Cargo to carry mail, seafood, groceries, and essential supplies to remote communities across the state.
