Bombardier CRJ200LR, operated by Air Wisconsin for American Eagle as N420AW. The 50-seat regional jet connects smaller communities with American Airlines hubs under a capacity-purchase agreement. Powered by two General Electric CF34-3B1 engines, the CRJ200 combines jet speed with relatively low trip costs and the ability to serve thinner regional markets. Air Wisconsin has decades of experience operating the CRJ family for major U.S. airlines. N420AW represents the type that transformed regional flying in North America during the 1990s and 2000s, although larger regional jets have increasingly replaced 50-seat aircraft on many routes.
