Airbus A340-642, operated by Conviasa as YV3545. The four-engine widebody joined Venezuela's state-owned airline to expand long-haul services from Caracas. Powered by four Rolls-Royce Trent 500 engines, the A340-600 combines very high passenger capacity with intercontinental range and a long, distinctive fuselage. Conviasa has used its A340 fleet on routes linking Venezuela with destinations in Europe, Latin America, and other international markets. YV3545 gives the carrier substantial long-distance capacity at a time when most major airlines have retired four-engine A340s in favor of more fuel-efficient twinjets, making Conviasa a notable remaining operator of the type.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport, the A340 was first flown on October 25th, 1991. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
