Boeing 747-44AF, operated by UPS Airlines as N580UP. The purpose-built 747-400F provides enormous cargo capacity and intercontinental range for UPS's global logistics network. Powered by four General Electric CF6-80C2 engines, N580UP features both a hinged nose door and large side cargo door, allowing the carriage of standard containers as well as unusually large freight. UPS uses its 747 freighters on high-volume routes linking major hubs in North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Although newer 747-8Fs offer greater payload and efficiency, the 747-400F remains a highly capable heavy freighter for long-distance express operations.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
Gemini's 1:200 scale Boeing 747 is an exceptionally large and heavy model in this scale (over two pounds) and is constructed almost entirely of solid diecast metal. The extra wide-body fuselage, with its wonderfully sculpted nose section, features all around seamless construction with pad-printed windows and doors. The model is supported on an all metal fixed landing gear with soft rubber tires and a steerable nose wheel. The solid metal wings are constructed as a single unit, and then carefully fitted to the fuselage. They feature accurately replicated flap track fairings at the rear and free spinning highly detailed fan blades inside each engine nacelles.
