Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, operated by United Airlines as N26902. United became the first North American airline to operate the 787, introducing the type in 2012. Powered by two General Electric GEnx engines, N26902 combines excellent fuel efficiency and long range with large electronically dimmable windows, a lower cabin altitude, and a quieter passenger environment. United uses its 787-8 fleet on long-haul international services and selected domestic routes from major hubs. The smallest Dreamliner variant is particularly valuable on thinner intercontinental markets where its range is required but the greater capacity of a 787-9 or 777 would be unnecessary.
Designed as a mid-sized, wide-body airliner and constructed out of mostly composite material, the 787 was first flown on December 15th, 2009. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
