Airbus A220-300, operated by National Jet Systems for QantasLink as VH-X4A. The aircraft is part of Qantas' major regional fleet renewal program, replacing aging Boeing 717s on domestic services. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW1500G geared turbofan engines, the A220 offers substantially improved fuel efficiency, reduced noise, and longer range while carrying roughly 137 passengers in Qantas configuration. VH-X4A operates routes linking major Australian cities with regional destinations and can also undertake longer thin routes. The type provides a modern cabin with large windows, spacious overhead bins, and improved passenger comfort compared with the aircraft it replaces.
