Conquest Air Cargo operates the C-131F Samaritan, a military transport aircraft originally developed by Convair for the U.S. Air Force. The C-131F, a variant of the Convair 240, was designed for cargo and personnel transport. After its military service, many C-131Fs found new life in civilian roles, including air cargo operations. Conquest Air Cargo uses these durable aircraft for transporting goods to destinations in the Caribbean and South America. The C-131F's rugged design and ability to operate from shorter airstrips make it ideal for carrying cargo in regions with less-developed airport infrastructure.
Designed as a replacement for the DC-3, the Convair 240 was first flown on July 8th, 1946. The design spawned a series of larger variants, affectionately known as the "Convairliners". © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
