Boeing 737-7K2, serial number 30364, operated by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines as PH-BGI. The aircraft joined KLM's 737 Next Generation fleet for short and medium haul services from Amsterdam Schiphol. Powered by two CFM International CFM56-7B engines, the 737-700 provides useful range and lower capacity than the carrier's larger 737-800 and 737-900 aircraft, making it suitable for thinner European routes. PH-BGI has served destinations throughout the continent and nearby regions. KLM is progressively replacing its long-serving Boeing narrowbodies with Airbus A320neo-family aircraft, bringing a gradual end to the 737's prominent role in the airline's European network. Designed as a smaller, short-ranged alternative to the Boeing 707 and 727, the 737 was first flown on April 9th, 1967. Over its long operational carreer, the 737 has spawned numerous variants ranging in capacity from less than 100 to more than 200 seats. In fact, the 737 series is the best-selling jetliner in aviation history with more than 6,500 aircraft manufactured to date and more than 4,500 still in service with over 500 airlines around the world. Incredibly, there is a 737 taking off or landing somewhere in the world, on average, every five seconds. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
