Airbus A340-642, serial number 615, operated by Mahan Air as EP-MMR. The stretched four-engine widebody serves the Iranian carrier on long-haul and high-capacity international routes from Tehran. Powered by four Rolls-Royce Trent 500 engines, the A340-600 offers substantial passenger and cargo capacity together with intercontinental range. EP-MMR has operated services to destinations in Asia, the Middle East, and other international markets. Mahan Air acquired secondhand A340s to expand its long-distance capability, and the type's large size and range have made it a prominent member of the carrier's fleet despite the industry's broader shift toward more efficient twin-engine widebodies.
