Boeing 737-858, serial number 30465, operated by El Al Israel Airlines as 4X-EKK. The aircraft joined El Al's narrowbody fleet for short and medium haul services from Tel Aviv to destinations throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. Powered by two CFM International CFM56-7B engines, 4X-EKK combines dependable performance, useful range, and efficient passenger capacity. El Al's 737-800s became workhorses on regional international routes, complementing larger Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft used on long haul services. The type also reflects El Al's long-standing preference for Boeing equipment and remains important on routes where widebody capacity is unnecessary. Designed as a smaller, short-ranged alternative to the Boeing 707 and 727, the 737 was first flown on April 9th, 1967. Over its long operational carreer, the 737 has spawned numerous variants ranging in capacity from less than 100 to more than 200 seats. In fact, the 737 series is the best-selling jetliner in aviation history with more than 6,500 aircraft manufactured to date and more than 4,500 still in service with over 500 airlines around the world. Incredibly, there is a 737 taking off or landing somewhere in the world, on average, every five seconds. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
