Saab 340A, operated by Bar Harbor Airlines as N407BH. The compact twin-engine turboprop served the northeastern United States as Bar Harbor expanded its commuter network and feeder operations. Powered by two General Electric CT7 engines, the Saab 340 offered economical performance, a pressurized cabin, and seating for approximately 30 passengers. N407BH was well suited to short sectors connecting smaller New England communities with larger airports such as Boston and New York. Bar Harbor Airlines became an important regional carrier before its operations were eventually absorbed into larger airline systems. The Saab 340 subsequently enjoyed a long career with regional operators worldwide.
