Airbus A350-941, serial number 290, operated by Lufthansa as D-AIXP. The aircraft joined Lufthansa's modern long haul fleet for intercontinental services from Munich and other major gateways. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, D-AIXP combines excellent range with significantly improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and a quieter cabin compared with older four-engine widebodies. Lufthansa uses its A350-900s on routes to destinations throughout North America, Asia, and other long distance markets. The type has become central to the airline's fleet modernization and progressively replaces older Airbus A340 aircraft while complementing Boeing 787 and 747 equipment.
