Airbus A310-203, serial number 309, operated by British Caledonian Airways as G-BKWT. The aircraft joined the independent British carrier's widebody fleet during the 1980s and was used on medium and long-haul services from London Gatwick. Powered by two General Electric CF6 engines, the A310 combined a widebody cabin with efficient twin-engine economics and greater range than the earlier A300. G-BKWT served routes to destinations in Africa, the Middle East, and other international markets. Following British Airways' takeover of British Caledonian in 1988, the aircraft became part of BA's fleet and continued operating under new ownership.
Designed as a smaller version of the original A300, the A310 was first flown on April 3rd, 1982. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
