Boeing 737-790(BDSF), serial number 30794, operated by Alaska Air Cargo as N627AS. Originally built as a passenger 737-700, the aircraft was converted to a dedicated freighter with a large main-deck cargo door and reinforced cargo floor. Powered by two CFM International CFM56-7B engines, N627AS carries freight throughout Alaska and between the state and the Pacific Northwest. Its missions include mail, seafood, groceries, medical supplies, and other essential cargo for remote communities. The converted 737-700 provides greater range and payload than Alaska's earlier 737-400 freighters while retaining efficient twin-engine economics.
BEDEK is the maintenance and engineering division of Isreal Aerospace Industries that specializes in converting passenger aircraft into freighters for airlines. The 737-700BSDF (BEDEK Special Freighter) is a conversion of the 737-700 that includes numerous system modifications with the most obvious feature being the addition of a large cargo door to the forward fuselage. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
