The 815th Airlift Squadron, "Flying Jennies", of the Air Force Reserve Command operate the C-130J Super Hercules from Keesler AFB, Mississippi. Transitioning from earlier H-models, the Jennies use the upgraded C-130J for tactical airlift, airdrop, and humanitarian missions worldwide. With more powerful engines, modern avionics, and improved performance, the J-model enhances the squadron's ability to deliver personnel, cargo, and relief supplies into austere or forward operating locations. The Flying Jennies regularly support joint exercises, contingency operations, and stateside disaster response. Their close association with the co-located 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron adds unique mission synergy at Keesler.
Designed to function as a troop, medical evacuation and cargo transport aircraft, the C-130 Hercules was first flown on August 23rd, 1954. Built by Lockheed and capable of over 40,000 lbs of payload, this four-engine turboprop aircraft is quite possibly the most versatile tactical transport in existence. Its modern roles include airlift and airdrop, electronic surveillance, search and rescue, space-capsule recovery, helicopter refueling and aerial attack. Capable of takeoffs and landings from unprepared runways, the C-130 has even landed and taken off from a carrier deck without benefit of arresting gear or catapults. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.

The classic C-130H features four-bladed propellers, while the modern C-130J incorporates updated engine nacelles and distinctive six-bladed propellers. The C-130J-30 adds an extended fuselage, accurately representing the stretched Super Hercules. All versions capture the C-130's unmistakable high-wing design, rugged landing gear and upswept rear fuselage. Detailed surface features, antennas, rubber tires and precision tampo-printed markings make Gemini's versatile C-130 tooling an excellent representation of this legendary military transport.
