Airbus A220-300, serial number 55147, operated by Air Canada as C-GNBN. The aircraft joined Air Canada's new-generation narrowbody fleet for domestic, transborder, and selected international services. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW1500G geared turbofan engines, C-GNBN offers excellent fuel efficiency, reduced noise, and a spacious five-abreast cabin with unusually large windows for a single-aisle aircraft. Air Canada uses the A220 on routes ranging from shorter Canadian sectors to longer services across North America and to leisure destinations. The type replaced older Airbus A319 and Embraer equipment while providing the range and economics needed to open thinner routes that were previously difficult to serve profitably.
