Airbus A330-343, serial number 1712, operated by Cebu Pacific as RP-C3347. The aircraft joined the Philippine low-cost carrier's widebody fleet for high-capacity domestic and international services from Manila. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines, the A330-300 offered the passenger capacity and range needed for routes across Asia and to destinations in the Middle East and Australia. Cebu Pacific became known for exceptionally dense A330 seating configurations designed around its low-cost business model. RP-C3347 helped the airline expand long haul operations before the carrier began transitioning toward the newer Airbus A330-900neo, which offers improved fuel efficiency, range, and operating economics.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers. The A330 has the same range and payload capacity as a DC-10 with 25% greater fuel efficiency. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
