Convair 880-22-1, serial number 9, operated by LANICA as AN-BIB. Originally delivered to TWA in 1960 as N807TW, the aircraft was later leased to Northeast Airlines as N8492H from 1963 until 1968. LANICA acquired it in May 1972 as part of a deal involving Howard Hughes interests and used it on international services linking Managua with Miami, Mexico City and Central American destinations. AN-BIB was one of LANICA's first jet airliners and helped introduce the Convair 880 to Nicaragua. It was withdrawn from LANICA service in February 1975 after a relatively brief but distinctive career with the carrier.
