Boeing 757-2Q8, serial number 25624, line number 541, operated by Mexican leisure carrier Aladia as XA-ACA. The aircraft had previously served with several operators, including SunExpress as TC-SNA, and was fitted with blended winglets in 2006. It joined Aladia in May 2008, wearing the carrier's full colors and operating vacation-oriented services from Mexico. Its Aladia career proved extremely short: the airline suspended operations in November 2008. The aircraft was subsequently stored in California and re-registered N624AG before continuing its career elsewhere.

Boeing 757-200

Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner to replace the 727, the 757 was first flown on February 19th, 1982. Developed in tandem with the wide-bodied 767 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 757 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. A total of 1050 aircraft were built before production ceased in 2004, however many airframes have since been retrofitted with drag-reducing blended winglets to help improve fuel economy.
