This L-1049G with registration # VH-EAG was originally issued to Qantas in 1954. After years of superb performance and numerous inaugural flights it was sold to Boeing in 1963 and eventually scrapped in 1965. In 1992 the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society of Australia began restoring an ex-USAF Connie which in 1994 was registered as "VH-EAG". This aircraft is now on display at the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society's base in Albion Park, New South Wales. This L-1049G includes a metal collectors tin to celebrate the history of this Super Constellation!
Designed as a stretched version of the successful Constellation design, the Super Constellation was first flown on October 13th, 1950. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
