Boeing 737-823, serial number 33229, line number 4390, delivered to American Airlines in April 2013 as N921NN. Powered by CFM56-7B engines, the aircraft joined American during the final years before its merger with US Airways and became part of the airline's enormous post-merger narrowbody fleet. N921NN is especially recognizable because it wears American's polished-silver-inspired retro livery, commemorating the carrier's classic appearance from the pre-2013 era. The aircraft remains active on American's domestic and near-international network, frequently operating from major hubs including Dallas/Fort Worth, Charlotte, Chicago, and Miami.
