Airbus A330-323, serial number 370, operated by US Airways as N275AY. Built in 2000, the aircraft was originally delivered to US Airways as N675US in December of that year and was re-registered N275AY in 2006. Powered by Pratt & Whitney PW4168A engines, it became part of US Airways' long-haul fleet from Philadelphia and Charlotte, serving European and other international destinations. N275AY transferred to American Airlines following the US Airways-American merger in December 2013. It was withdrawn from service and stored at Roswell on March 31, 2020, during the pandemic fleet reductions, and was broken up there in March 2024.

Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers.
