Boeing 757-23A, serial number 32449, entered service with DHL Air as G-DHKK. The aircraft operates as a dedicated freighter within DHL's European express logistics network, linking major cargo hubs such as East Midlands, Leipzig, and Brussels. Configured with a large main deck cargo door and reinforced floor, it carries containerized and palletized freight on overnight schedules. Powered by Rolls Royce RB211 engines, the 757-200 freighter offers strong payload capability, efficient fuel consumption, and excellent reliability. G-DHKK plays an important role in DHL's time critical cargo operations, supporting the movement of express shipments across Europe and international distribution networks.
Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner to replace the 727, the 757 was first flown on February 19th, 1982. Developed in tandem with the wide-bodied 767 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 757 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. A total of 1050 aircraft were built before production ceased in 2004, however many airframes have since been retrofitted with drag-reducing blended winglets to help improve fuel economy. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
