Boeing 727-235 Advanced, serial number 22457, entered service with Pan American World Airways as N368PA. The aircraft joined Pan Am's narrowbody fleet during the late 1970s and operated domestic and international routes throughout North America, the Caribbean, and Latin America. The 727-200 Advanced offered increased range, payload, and capacity compared with earlier 727 variants. Powered by three Pratt & Whitney JT8D engines, N368PA provided reliable medium haul performance and excellent operational flexibility. It became part of the familiar fleet of 727s wearing Pan Am's iconic blue globe during the airline's final decades.

Boeing 727-200

Designed as a smaller, short/medium-ranged complement to the 707, the 727 was first flown on February 9th, 1963.
