Airbus A321-253NX, serial number 12057, operated by Virgin Atlantic Airways as G-VATH. The aircraft represents a major departure from Virgin Atlantic's traditional all-widebody operation, providing efficient narrowbody capacity for selected services. Powered by two new-generation turbofan engines, the A321neo offers substantially improved fuel economy, lower emissions, and reduced noise compared with earlier A321 variants. G-VATH supports Virgin Atlantic's evolving network strategy while retaining the airline's distinctive branding and passenger product. The A321neo's combination of capacity, range, and efficiency makes it suitable for thinner routes where the carrier's Airbus A330, A350, and Boeing 787 widebodies would provide more capacity than required.
Designed as a lengthened-fuselage version of the highly successful A320 design, the A321 was first flown on March 11th, 1993. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
