Airbus A330-302, serial number 1783, entered service new with Delta Air Lines as N831NW in April 2017. Powered by two General Electric CF6-80E1 engines, the aircraft joined Delta's widebody fleet for transatlantic and other long haul international services. N831NW combines substantial passenger and cargo capacity with dependable long range performance and was later reconfigured with Delta's updated cabin product. The aircraft remains active in 2026, operating routes from Delta's major hubs to destinations in Europe and other international markets. The A330-300 continues to complement Delta's newer A330neo and A350 fleets.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers. The A330 has the same range and payload capacity as a DC-10 with 25% greater fuel efficiency. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
