Airbus A340-313X, serial number 158, operated by Lufthansa as D-AIGM. The aircraft formed part of Lufthansa's substantial A340-300 fleet and operated long haul services from Frankfurt and Munich to destinations across North America, Asia, Africa, and South America. Powered by four CFM International CFM56-5C engines, D-AIGM offered dependable intercontinental range and a comfortable widebody cabin. Lufthansa became one of the world's largest A340 operators and continued using the type long after many airlines transitioned entirely to twin-engine widebodies. Aircraft such as D-AIGM helped maintain service on long distance routes where their capacity and range remained well matched to demand.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport, the A340 was first flown on October 25th, 1991. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
