Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, serial number 34530, operated by All Nippon Airways as JA873A. The aircraft joined ANA's long haul Dreamliner fleet for intercontinental services from Tokyo to destinations throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Powered by two General Electric GEnx engines, JA873A combines excellent range and fuel efficiency with the 787's large windows, lower cabin altitude, and quieter interior. The aircraft has operated premium international routes from Tokyo Haneda and Narita and remains active in 2026. The 787-9 is a central part of ANA's long distance fleet, complementing its larger Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on high-demand routes.
Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to compete with the Airbus A330/A340 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-11, the 777 was first flown on June 12th, 1994. A pair of the world's largest diameter turbofan engines power the aircraft which currently holds the record for world's largest twin-engined airliner. The 777 was Boeing's first fly-by-wire airliner, featuring complete glass cockpit displays and flight envelope protection.
