Boeing 747-481, serial number 25135, operated by All Nippon Airways as JA8097. The aircraft joined ANA's Boeing 747-400 fleet for high-capacity domestic and international services during the airline's rapid expansion. Powered by four General Electric CF6 turbofan engines, the 747-400 combined intercontinental range with substantial passenger and cargo capacity and became one of ANA's most recognizable flagship aircraft. JA8097 served alongside specially configured domestic 747s and long range international examples, connecting Japan with major destinations throughout Asia, Europe, and North America. ANA eventually retired its passenger 747 fleet as more efficient Boeing 777 and 787 twinjets assumed its routes.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
