Airbus A380-841, serial number 001, entered service with Airbus Industrie as F-WWOW. The first A380 ever built, F-WWOW made the type's historic maiden flight from Toulouse on April 27, 2005, beginning the extensive flight-test and certification program for the world's largest passenger airliner. Powered by four Rolls-Royce Trent 970 engines, the aircraft has performed development testing, demonstration flights, and appearances at major international air shows. Unlike most early A380 test aircraft, F-WWOW remains an Airbus testbed. After nearly three years in storage, the pioneering prototype returned to active flying in March 2025.
