Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, serial number 69263, entered service with Air India as VT-AWA in February 2026. Delivered new in January 2026, the aircraft was Air India's first factory-new, line-fit 787-9 and marked an important milestone in the carrier's fleet transformation. Configured with 30 Business Class, 28 Premium Economy, and 238 Economy seats, VT-AWA introduced Air India's latest long haul cabin. Powered by two General Electric GEnx-1B engines, the aircraft combines excellent range and fuel efficiency with improved passenger comfort. It began international service on February 1, 2026 and operates routes including Mumbai-London and India-Frankfurt services.
