Airbus A330-343, operated by T'Way Air as HL8560. Originally delivered to AirAsia X as 9M-XXS in June 2014, the aircraft later joined South Korean carrier T'Way Air as part of its expansion into long haul operations. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines, HL8560 provides the capacity and range required for services from Seoul Incheon to destinations throughout Asia, Australia, and North America. In 2026 the aircraft remains active on routes including Seoul-Sydney, Vancouver, Singapore, Sapporo, and Ulaanbaatar, supporting T'Way's increasingly ambitious international network.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers. The A330 has the same range and payload capacity as a DC-10 with 25% greater fuel efficiency. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
