Airbus A340-313X, operated by Swiss International Air Lines as HB-JMG. The aircraft joined Swiss' long haul fleet for intercontinental services from Zurich and became part of one of Europe's most recognizable A340 operations. Powered by four CFM International CFM56-5C engines, HB-JMG combined long range capability with a comfortable four-engine widebody configuration. Swiss used its A340-300s on routes to destinations in North and South America, Asia, and Africa, particularly markets where their capacity remained well matched to demand. The aircraft continued operating after the introduction of Swiss' newer Boeing 777-300ER fleet, demonstrating the A340's long service life.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport, the A340 was first flown on October 25th, 1991. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
