Boeing 777-31B(ER), serial number 43221, entered service with China Southern Airlines as B-2007 in July 2014. The aircraft joined China Southern's flagship long haul fleet for services from Guangzhou to destinations throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Powered by two General Electric GE90-115B engines, B-2007 offers excellent intercontinental range, payload capability, and reliability. The aircraft is particularly distinctive for carrying the "WorldSkills Shanghai 2022" special livery. It remains active in 2026, operating both international and domestic services, including the important Guangzhou-Los Angeles route.
Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to compete with the Airbus A330/A340 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-11, the 777 was first flown on June 12th, 1994. A pair of the world's largest diameter turbofan engines power the aircraft which currently holds the record for world's largest twin-engined airliner. The 777 was Boeing's first fly-by-wire airliner, featuring complete glass cockpit displays and flight envelope protection.
