Airbus A350-941, registered HB-RGE, is associated with Edelweiss Air's transition to the Airbus A350-900 for long haul operations. The A350 represents a major modernization of the Swiss leisure carrier's widebody fleet, replacing older Airbus A340-300 aircraft. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, the A350-900 provides substantially improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions, longer range, and a quieter passenger cabin. Edelweiss uses the type from Zurich on leisure-oriented intercontinental routes to destinations in North America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia. The A350 gives the carrier greater operational efficiency while retaining the capacity needed for popular holiday markets.
