Airbus A330-941neo, serial number 1923, entered service with Air Senegal as 6V-ANB. The aircraft joined the Senegalese flag carrier's long haul fleet as its second A330-900, supporting international services from Dakar to destinations including Paris and other major markets. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, the A330neo combines substantial passenger capacity and intercontinental range with improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions compared with earlier A330 variants. 6V-ANB helped Air Senegal expand its long haul ambitions while providing a modern widebody passenger experience on important international routes linking Senegal with Europe and beyond.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers. The A330 has the same range and payload capacity as a DC-10 with 25% greater fuel efficiency. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
