Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, operated by Hainan Airlines as B-1540. The aircraft joined Hainan's modern long haul fleet for domestic trunk routes and international services connecting China with destinations across Europe, North America, and the Asia-Pacific region. Powered by two General Electric GEnx engines, the 787-9 combines intercontinental range and excellent fuel efficiency with the Dreamliner's large windows, lower cabin altitude, and quieter interior. B-1540 is particularly distinctive for carrying Hainan Airlines' "Hainan Free Trade Port" special livery, promoting the island province's growing international business and tourism role. It remains active with Hainan Airlines in 2026.
