Airbus A350-941, serial number 168, entered service with Hong Kong Airlines as B-LGC in November 2017. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-84 engines, the aircraft joined the carrier's ambitious long haul expansion and operated services from Hong Kong to destinations including North America. The A350 offered excellent range, fuel efficiency, and a modern passenger cabin, but Hong Kong Airlines' financial difficulties led to an early reduction of its long haul network. B-LGC left the fleet in 2020 and later served Azul in Brazil as PR-AOY before subsequently joining Thai Airways as HS-THZ, extending the career of this relatively young widebody.
