Airbus A380-841, serial number 054, entered service with China Southern Airlines as B-6138 in February 2012. The aircraft joined China's first and only operational A380 fleet, initially flying high-capacity domestic services before expanding onto international routes from Guangzhou. Powered by four Rolls-Royce Trent 970 engines, B-6138 combined enormous passenger capacity with long range capability and a spacious double-deck cabin. China Southern eventually deployed its A380s to destinations including Los Angeles, Amsterdam, and Sydney. B-6138 was withdrawn as the airline retired its five-aircraft A380 fleet in 2022, ending more than a decade of distinctive superjumbo operations.
Designed as the world's largest airliner, the double-decker A380 was first flown on April 27th, 2005. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
